Jean Haig
Viola
Jean Haig is the principal violist of the Boston Ballet Orchestra and plays in the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and Boston Landmarks Orchestra. A resident of greater Boston for over 40 years, she has performed with the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops, Bach, Beethoven and Brahms Society, Boston Lyric Opera, Lexington Symphony, the American Schubert Quartet, and the Arriaga Quartet. She also improvises on viola and violin with her church’s worship band.
Before coming to Boston, Ms. Haig was principal violist of the Indianapolis Symphony and a member of the Indianapolis String Quartet. She is a graduate of Smith College and earned a master’s degree in viola performance at the New England Conservatory.
