CZECH PLEASE!
February 8th and 15th
Escape the February doldrums for an afternoon and join us for a trip to Prague, where we will present the Anton Reicha Wind Quintet in D, composed in 1818. Reicha, a friend of Beethoven, was one of the first composers to popularize this ensemble. Then we will add a bass clarinet for the Janacek Mladi (Youth), a charming piece full of Moravian folk melodies and unbridled joy.
Due to ongoing icing issues there is no parking allowed on the property of the Allen Center for this weekend's Pro Arte concert. Free parking is available in two nearby places - either in the municipal lot which is bordered by Washington, Webster, Cherry and Elm Sts, or at Family Access, located at 492 Waltham Street, which is located one block away from the Allen Center. All sidewalks between these lots and the Allen Center are cleared and easily accessible. There is a drop off only area, located on the Webster St. side of the building, but you must move your car after dropping off passengers.
If these restrictions seem too inconvenient for your situation, please note that we are repeating this concert on Sunday, February 15 at 7pm at Congregation Beth El, 105 Hudson Rd, Sudbury, MA. All tickets previously purchased for Feb 8 will be honored at this performance.
