Barbara Englesberg
Barbara Englesberg, Assistant Concertmaster
Barbara Englesberg studied at UC Santa Barbara, Peabody Conservatory and Boston University, where she completed her doctorate in music in 1987. Her major violin teachers were Joseph Fuchs, Berl Senofsky, Joseph Silverstein and Valerie Kuchment. A founding member of Pro Arte, Ms. Englesberg is also an active free-lancer in the Boston area, performing with the Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Ballet and other organizations. She teaches at All-Newton Music School, the New School of Music and Northeastern University, and coaches chamber music. She is also a member of the Leonora String Quartet.
Ms. Englesberg chairs Pro Arte's Executive Committee.
