We conclude our season with a program of Stravinsky, Ginastera, and Alexander Tcherepnin. The score for Stravinsky’s ballet Pulcinella was adapted from various pieces attributed to Pergolesi, enhancing it with pungence and rhythmic tautness. Ginastera, also writing for the ballet with Estancia, gives us music incorporating Argentinian folk tunes, marked by rhythmic energy. We also feature harmonica virtuoso Robert Bonfiglio as he brings the Tcherepnin Concerto for Harmonica and Orchestra to life. And the Conservatory Lab Charter School’s Dudamel Orchestra joins us again– all led at the baton of Pro Arte’s conductor emerita, Gisèle Ben-Dor.
