
Nancy Dimock, Oboe
Nancy Dimock regularly performs throughout the northeast as a member of Pro Arte, the Vermont Symphony, and the Albany Symphony. She has performed as a guest with the Boston Lyric Opera, Portland Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and the Boston Pops. She has been the principal oboist of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and can be heard performing with the HSO on the Grammy-nominated compact disc Rosemary Clooney: The Final Concert.
In addition, Ms. Dimock performs with the Chameleon Arts Ensemble, the Auros Group for New Music, and the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, with which she appeared on the PBS production Great Performances. Recent concerts have included a 10-city tour playing the Bach Concerto for Oboe and Violin with renowned violinist Jaime Laredo, chamber music performances with the Jacques Thibaud Trio, WGBH live studio broadcasts. and concerts with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.
Ms. Dimock holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the New England Conservatory, where her teachers included Joseph Robinson and Alfred Genovese. She has recorded for Concord and Albany Records. She teaches in the Music Department of the University of Connecticut.
